Re-use and Recycle
We accept donations of bikes (or bike parts!) to be serviced and restored by our volunteer team, so that they can be sold safe and fully functioning at minimal cost. Refurbished bikes are sold on a ‘pay-what-you-can’ basis, and all proceeds are returned directly used to cover the costs of future refurbishments.
Ride
Ride for fun, ride for health, and ride for transport! We run several projects aimed at getting more bums on bikes.
Join the Cairngorms Bike Bus to ride to school with your friends, or get support to be a more confident cyclist on a Joy Ride. You can also hire one of our e-assist cargo trikes for just £5/day.
Fix
SPIN is about sharing knowledge, de-mystifying bikes and giving you the confidence to ride where and when you want. We work with local schools to teach bike safety and maintenance to tomorrow's cyclists, and also offer adult classes for groups or individuals. Look out for pop-up 'Dr. Bike' safety checks, or get in touch if you think your workplace or community group would benefit from our help.
What is SPIN?
A community-focused force for good in Strathspey and beyond, making all forms of cycling more accessible to the local community by lowering cost and confidence barriers wherever we can. We are a registered Community Interest Company, meaning that all of our profits are directed back into furthering our aims.
We can’t build a community on our own though, so a central part of the SPIN Project is you! Check our social media for updates on what’s happening and how to get involved, or even better come and visit us at the workshop for the inside line on current opportunities.
